The Cerner Charitable foundation organized a giving back event around "Together, Caring for the Planet" (April 18-22). On Earth Day (April 22nd) a group of Cerner Benelux associates decided to participate with a clean-up event.
The original plan included walking from the office to “Het Haagsche Bos” and cleanup everything on the way and then loop through the forest before heading back to the office.
Because of the major amount of trash we found already around our office we collectively changed the plan and decided to clean up the neighborhood around the office instead.
Due to a client event our group consisted of 8 associates, but we made it count! In the 2 hours we were out, we collected a total of 25 garbage bags of trash. We also had a lot of fun along the way.
Our neighborhood is definitely a lot cleaner as well as a lot safer for the children who live there.
We are already looking forward to the initiative for next quarter which will revolve around education.
