Serving Military- and Veteran-Connected Communities: Mental Health Matters

Recently, there has been increasing momentum towards providing resources and services to improve physical and mental health, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the events in Afghanistan, and the social determinants of health (SDH)—the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes. These conditions are influencing and shaping daily life, including social norms, mental health, suicide risk factors, economic policies, political systems and social policies.

A more flexible, responsive effort is needed to respond to the surge of requests that these recent events have caused. With September marking Suicide Prevention Month, it’s critical that we address how to break down stigma, come together as a community, and utilize telehealth to improve physical and mental health outcomes.

In this webinar, our experts will explore:

  • The complexities that lead to increased rates of suicide and how recent events are increasing those risk factors.
  • The surge of requests that the recent events have caused and how new innovations and data modeling can address these issues.
  • How nonprofits are stepping up to meet increased demand and how health partners can help with prevention and treatment.
