    Introducing the CHC19 Social Media Influencers

    Since 1986, Cerner Health Conference (CHC) has brought innovative health care and technology professionals together to network and learn. This year, we’ve selected some of the most engaged providers, industry partners and Cerner associates to showcase the “NOW” and “NEXT” of health care to a global social media audience.

    These individuals use Twitter and other social networks to uniquely connect with their audiences year-round. Follow these CHC19 Social Media Influencers to stay updated throughout the conference next week.

    1. Dr. Jigar Patel - @JSPatelMD

    Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Cerner Government Services

    Bridging the gap between Cerner’s efforts to improve the physician experience and to provide the best care possible for Veterans, Service members and their families, Dr. Patel uses Twitter to help others stay informed, connected and engaged throughout CHC.

    2. Russ Branzell - @CHIMECEO

    President & CEO, College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME)

    A cybersecurity advocate and a prominent voice in health IT, Russ oversees CHIME’s mission to advance and serve senior leaders in using knowledge and technology to improve health care. One of his top priorities is helping health care organizations deal with cyber threats to better protect patient data and information systems.

    Russ will speak on a panel with American Hospital Association President and CEO Rick Pollack at the CHC19 Executive Summit on Oct. 8. The event brings Cerner executives, clients and industry thought leaders together to discuss the roles of health care public policy and IT in the future of health care.

    3. Emil Peters - @310emil

    Senior Vice President & President, Cerner Global

    As of the leader of Cerner Global, Emil is intimately involved in Cerner’s growing footprint in markets throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East with a focus on relentlessly advancing engagement, value and growth for Cerner clients.

    4. Jane Sarasohn Kahn - @healthythinker

    Health Economist, Keynote at Cerner’s Revenue Management Forum

    According to Jane, health is your most valuable asset. Her mother’s diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1971 prompted Jane’s decision to study public health and economics at the University of Michigan. She has spent the last two decades as an advisor to health care stakeholders in the U.S. and Europe.

    Jane will give her keynote address, “The Evolving Health Consumer: Person, Patient, Payor and Primed for Engagement,” at the Cerner Revenue Management Forum on Monday, Oct. 7.

    5. Meg Marshall - @MegMarshallHIT

    Senior Director & Government Strategist, Cerner

    As one of Cerner’s resident experts on health IT policy and governmental affairs, you can count on Meg to shed light on the role of politics on the health care industry. From the shifting regulatory landscape within the United States to the government’s role in advancing interoperability, Meg is a consistent source for valuable insights on the future of the business of health and care.

    6. Dr. Marc Scarbrough - @MarcScarbrough

    Hospitalist, Lawrence Memorial Hospital

    When he’s not taking selfies from the stage at CHC, Cerner Physician Community (CPC) 2018 Physician All Star winner Dr. Scarbrough practices medicine at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and through Sunflower Telemedicine.

    7. Kashif Rathore - @k_rathore

    Vice President, Interoperability, Cerner

    You’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger advocate for interoperability, health data access and personal health data ownership than Kashif. He’s been integral in continuing Cerner's vision of creating industry-wide access to patient health information.

    8. Dr. Lu de Souza - @drludesouza

    Senior Director & Chief Medical Officer, Cerner

    Dr. Lu de Souza is a practicing pediatrician and the senior director and chief medical officer of Cerner’s west division of physician executives. You’ll see Dr. de Souza throughout the CPC Forum providing insights on how collaboration and communication can effectively combat physician burnout.

    9. Dr. Dermot O'Riordan - @dermotor

    Surgeon, Chief Clinical Information Officer, West Suffolk NHS

    Before his work as a consultant surgeon at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Dr. O’Riordan worked as medical director and interim CEO. Today, Dr. O’Riordan serves as chief clinical information officer and collaborates with Cerner on West Suffolk NHS’ e-Care integrated electronic health record project, which promotes the exchange of health information within the system.

    10. Durenda Juergensen - @DJuergensen1  

    Director, Chief Nursing Officer, Health System Operations, Cerner

    As part of Cerner’s Health System Operations team, Durenda works to improve the patient experience and increase organizational efficiency. She empowers care teams to use data to drive business decisions, inform process improvement strategies and ultimately impact value for consumers.

    11. Dr. Emily Webber - @pedshospdoc

    CMIO, Riley Children's Health & Associate CMIO, IU Health

    As a pediatric hospitalist and CMIO at Riley Hospital for Children, Dr. Webber advocates for health IT solutions that promote patient safety and improve the overall quality of care within the Indiana University Health System. A CPC18 Physician All Star, she’s also an associate CMIO for IU Health, where she focuses on patient empowerment through technology.

    12. Dick Flanigan- @dickflaniganKS

    Senior Vice President, ITWorks

    Dick leads ITWorks, Cerner’s strategic outsourcing model, which aligns the local resources of health care organizations with the knowledge and experience of Cerner’s health IT experts. He guides his team to help health care providers across the globe achieve their clinical and financial goals.

    13. Nate Kelly - @nate_kelly1

    Senior Director, Hospital Operations, Cerner

    For nearly 15 years, Nate has worked with Cerner’s clients and strategic collaborators to learn how they’re leveraging predictive intelligence inside workflows and processes to ensure the best clinical, operational and financial outcomes for patients and organizations alike.

    14. Eva Karp - @eva__L_Karp

    SVP, Chief Clinical and Patient Safety Officer, Cerner

    Eva is a passionate and outspoken advocate for technologies that improve the experience of caregivers and patients. At CHC19, Eva is looking forward to connecting with clients and supporting clinical reasoning and decision-making that advances patient safety. Eva’s team focuses on driving care coordination, nursing documentation and clinical workflows that promote personalized care delivery.

    15. Gemma Garvan ─ @GemmaGarvan1

    Director of Health Informatics, St James's Hospital

    As Director of Health Informatics, Gemma oversaw the implementation of Cerner Millennium® at St James's Hospital in Dublin, Ireland – the first public acute general hospital in Ireland to go live with the digitization of inpatient records.

    16. Mark Mellott - @mdmellott

    Senior Director, Cerner Government Services

    Before joining Cerner in 2017, Army Veteran Mark served on a Medical Task Force in Afghanistan and worked within the Office of the Army Surgeon General and the Defense Health Agency.

    Today, Mark works directly with members of the Cerner Government Advisory Board to ensure that leading-edge solutions and innovations can help provide direction on development, sustainment and outreach within the federal government, health care industry, Veteran and military communities and other service organizations.

    17. Dr. Colin Fincham - @ColinFincham

    Senior Director & Chief Medical Officer, Cerner Middle East & Africa

    Dr. Fincham is a globetrotting health IT thought leader who provides meaningful insights wherever he is, from Arab Health to HIMSS to CHC. He serves as Cerner’s senior director and chief medical officer for regions spanning the U.K., Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and beyond.

    18. Dr. Shez Partovi -  @spartoviMD

    Worldwide leader, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Genomics at Amazon Web Services

    Dr. Partovi helps health care organizations manage and analyze data using Amazon's industry-leading software tools. Early in his career, Dr. Partovi worked with dedicated care teams to dissolve brain blood clots and prevent strokes for patients, then he shifted his focus to digital transformations of health systems to improve access. Now, his mission is to elevate the human condition using Amazon as a platform.

    19. Dr. Bharat Sutariya – @bsutariya

    President & Chief Medical Officer, Population Health, Cerner

    As a Cerner executive and a part-time emergency physician at Olathe Medical Center, Dr. Bharat Sutariya provides a unique perspective on the importance of population health initiatives and the shift to value-based care.

    In 2010, he was integral in the development of the St. John Sepsis Surveillance Agent and continues to use the platform to raise awareness for the disease. This targeted, algorithm-based tool aims to reduce the sepsis mortality rate and improve quality measure compliance through the early identification of high-risk patients. It’s been implemented at more than 550 hospitals in the U.S. alone.
