The COVID-19 pandemic brought to light the global need for more streamlined solutions to solve healthcare’s challenges – clinician burnout, inadequate data storage systems, staffing shortages and equitable patient care. With a focus on being clinically driven and fulfilling the promise of the electronic health record (EHR), Oracle Cerner remains a global leader based on EHR market share. According to the KLAS Global (Non-US) EMR Market Share 2022 report, Oracle Cerner’s customer roster consists of 2,389 acute inpatient hospitals, including 1,052 non-US clients. This is the second consecutive year of increasing total beds contracted outside of the U.S.

Meet some of the hospitals and health systems around the world who joined or recommitted to being part of the Oracle Cerner community:

Middle East:

  • Champion Hospital in Kuwait - the first rehabilitation and private hospital in the country, specialized in orthopedics, cardiology and aesthetic treatments, selected Oracle Cerner to implement an integrated EHR platform at its newest facility.

Ontario, Canada:

United Kingdom:

  • Oracle Cerner continues its standing as an industry leader in the United Kingdom.
  • Two health systems, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust and the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will join the Oracle Cerner Millennium EHR domain already well established by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The four organizations together serve a population of 2.4 million providing acute services within the North West London Integrated Care System and comprise a total of 12 facilities.
  • Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust will add their two sites to the St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust domain in South West London. Teaming with Oracle Cerner, the combined resources of the Trusts will advance the rapid development and implementation of clinical pathways in the region and provide an essential backbone to the establishment of the new Integrated Care System (ICS) in a strategically important corner of London and the home counties. As with all new footprints, Oracle Cerner received this contract after a competitive procurement process to replace a previous supplier.  
  • East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT) provides a new footprint in the North West of England. After a lengthy procurement process, the trust is already well underway with the implementation of the Oracle Cerner EHR across their two facilities in Backburn and Burnley. Once live, their new EHR will link with the local shared record service to support the data ambitions of the ICS formed in the region.

Clients who have extended and expanded contracts with Oracle Cerner include:

  • Austin Health in Melbourne, Australia have proven themselves pioneers in the Asia Pacific region as the first to implement Oracle Cerner’s much anticipated Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR) service. The implementation of FHIR is part of the organization’s broader interoperability strategy, transforming the way they develop and use third-party apps. Access to the Oracle Cerner Open Developer Experience (code) will simplify Austin Health’s deployment of third-party apps in their environment, and as a firstin the Asia Pacific region, the implementation will serve as a proof point for other Oracle Cerner users looking to connect their domains to the service. 
  • Emirates Health Services (EHS) in the UAE signed a five-year expansion deal to continue its strategic partnership with Oracle Cerner ITWorks, which drives value and innovation for EHS by implementing several add-on solutions that will allow Oracle Cerner to support the health system in achieving the highest levels of maturity for EHR and analytics adoption. 
  • Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar expanded their agreementto upgrade and transition their Clinical Information System (CIS) onto an Oracle Cerner Managed Technology Service, the first of its kind in the region. Additionally, as a part of the program, all Oracle Cerner solutions were upgraded to the latest available offering. All CIS services went live on the new Managed Technology platform on June 2, 2022 delivering an improved and enhanced interface with a new capacity of 20,000 users. 
  • King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Saudi Arabia extended its contract through the end of 2024. The contract includes extensions to all licensed and sublicensed Oracle Cerner software, subscriptions, Premier Pass learning services, and Application Management Services (AMS). 
  • In a bold demonstration of industry confidence, SA Pathology in Adelaide, Australiasigned a $25 million, seven-year contract renewal regarding it’s statewide Enterprise Pathology Laboratory Information System (EPLIS). Recognizing the value and benefits of remote hosting (RHO) and AMS, SA Pathology have elected to move EPLIS from their locally hosted environment to Oracle Cerner’s cloud-hosted, managed services environment, allowing them to streamline services and take advantage of swift system enhancements and upgrade services.
