Special Edition of The Cerner Podcast | Ep. 96: Tuesday at #CHC18

Published on 10/10/2018

This year, we're bringing #CHC18 to you with The Cerner Podcast.

In this special edition episode, we bring insights from the 2018 Cerner Health Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, where more than 12,000 attendees from across the country and the globe have come together to learn and network. Sit at the table with us as we have conversations with health care leaders, Cerner clients and industry influencers. We're covering health IT trends and focusing on this year’s CHC theme of “Smarter Care.”

In Tuesday's episode, we hear from Bill Conway, general manager of provider solutions from American Well. He talks about how telehealth is transforming the way care is delivered and shares some exciting news about what Cerner and American Well are working together.

We also welcome Kashif Rathore, Cerner’s Vice President of Interoperability. He discusses how CHC has evolved over the course of his 20-year career with Cerner and sheds some light on the CommonWell collaboration with Carequality that is advancing nationwide interoperability.

Finally, we talk with Dr. Paul Fu, Jr., Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He gives us his take on what smarter care means for the industry and reflects on the Monday night keynote from Erik Weihenmayer. "It put some things into perspective in terms of the challenges I face at home," Fu says. "If he can put his mind to it and climb the seven tallest peaks in the world, I can get this code base implemented at home."
