Open API bootcamp – 26-29 April 2021

Innovation Skåne and Cerner have hosted an open API bootcamp to allow a group of healthtech companies to gain a deeper understanding of the problem of enabling healthcare and care delivery outside the care facility. The four-day digital event was held at the end of April and was very well received by all 10 participating organisations.

Region Skåne provided a detailed first-hand overview of the realities they face in this space as a regional healthcare provider. Cerner then highlighted the various tools that are available, such as validation programmes and APIs, that allow partners to come together to solve any challenges and benefit from opportunities in the healthcare journey.

During the sessions, participants raised great questions and generously shared knowledge that helped boost interactions and understanding – for the healthtech companies, Cerner and Region Skåne alike.

This was the second Cerner open API bootcamp, following one in Oxford, UK, last autumn in co-operation also with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Dublin’s Trinity College. Since both bootcamps have been so successful, we are currently looking into the possibility of arranging additional knowledge-sharing events.
