Saving time when it is at its most crucial

Today, emergency departments (ED) are under increasing pressure to treat larger patient populations with fewer resources while maximizing revenues and maintaining strict quality standards. Cerner FirstNet® is positioned to address these challenges.

Emergency medicine solutions from Cerner provide a tailored approach to optimizing the patient visit across the continuum of care. They are designed to meet the unique needs of the specialty and all departments and roles that surround that venue. They contain focused recommendations that address care teams, departments and capabilities. These tailored segments include recommendations for physician, nursing, academics, revenue cycle, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology and more.

ED provides ways to enhance the experience for emergency medicine providers and staff, including the following elements:

ED real-time dashboard: Displays real-time data for the emergency department. The dashboard pushes information to department managers and other users to support bed management, staffing, and other decisions that ultimately drive throughput and patient satisfaction.

Operational reports: Provide streamlined reporting across a single Cerner Millennium® domain, with the ability to customize and localize reports that are exportable to Excel.

ED LaunchPoint™: This clinician-focused view is used for managing assigned patients and monitoring all patients within the department.

Emergency medicine physician view: Gives a single location for the ED physician to locate the workflow, Quick Visits, quick orders, and quick orders and charges.

Emergency medicine workflow MPages®: These contain components and information that matter to ED physicians and nurses providing an at-a-glance view of the patient's status.

Quick orders and charges MPages view: Provides the most common orders placed by an emergency physician in one place, allowing them to quickly complete the ordering process.

Results callback MPages view: Expedites callback and follow-up workflows when results become available after discharge.

Quick Visits: Groupings of content and actions that allow physicians to quickly sign visit essentials. Using an MPages-enabled framework, these groupings can include prescriptions and patient education, and the physician can bundle them together and sign them simultaneously.

Activity/event: Contains components and information that optimize the use of the Activities column with direct access to streamlined documentation.

Medication administration: Designed to organize all medications efficiently, improve patient safety and eliminate administration errors by utilizing the Five Rights functionality.

ED iView: Contains components and information that optimize the ED iView bands and layout.

Emergency medicine nurse view: Provides a single location from the FirstNet table of contents for the ED nurse to view critical patient information and facilitate nurse handoff.

Smart templates: Increase the emergency physician's efficiency by pulling the most recent lab results and radiology interpretations for inclusion in documentation.
