During Cerner's annual health care conference, programmers and developers from around the nation will attend a series of educational trainings regarding the Cerner Open Developer Experience. Cerner Health Conference is scheduled for Nov. 14-17 in Kansas City, Missouri.
For the next four days at Cerner Health Conference, 50 brilliant minds will roll up their sleeves and immerse themselves in an innovative learning environment to aide in driving health care forward.
The inaugural Cerner Open Developer Experience (code) Learning Lab is designed to provide hands-on training for developers and system managers to learn best practices regarding utilizing application programming interfaces (APIs) to develop pluggable content that have the capacity to work with Cerner's open solution platforms.
"With the CHC code Learning Lab, we can further our electronic health record (EHR) by enhancing already available information," said Jimmy Luu, systems analyst at Children's Hospital of Orange County. "This event also allows a unique opportunity to become even more creative and develop brand-new tools that further advance the care we provide. I am excited to be a part of this endeavor."
The code digital experience was announced in February 2016 to enhance collaboration with third-party and client developers on SMART® on FHIR® applications. This is the latest illustration in the industry showcasing the advancement of innovation.

"The code Learning Lab will provide our clients the skills and tools they need to innovate using the latest standards-based APIs to build upon Cerner's open platforms."
During the code Learning Lab, top engineering talent and thought leaders will lead a series of hands-on training, which includes building SMART on FHIR standards on Cerner Millennium® platform and using APIs for population health management and consumer engagement on Cerner's HealtheIntentSM platform.
SMART on FHIR apps run on top of EHRs enabling physician access to interact and transmit health data. Through code.cerner.com, developers are given access to development tools in the Cerner open sandbox to research and browse content and can begin to code and create immediately.
Almost immediately upon registration for Cerner Health Conference, the seats at the code Learning Lab trainings were reserved.
