Clinical decision support

Adding intelligence to your workflow

Our clinical decision support solutions let you help your patients faster and more efficiently. Time is always a factor in the acute setting, so tools that can provide you with extra minutes or hours are crucial. Combined with your clinical skills, our clinical decision support solutions can make the difference and help to secure better patient outcomes.

Identifying sepsis

Our sepsis solution looks for change patterns that might go undetected in early stage sepsis and has been shown to save lives.1 It continuously gathers information from various sources within your healthcare organisation and combines that data with a patient’s vitals. When signs of sepsis are observed, the clinical team is alerted and advised to provide immediate response and treatment.2

Cutting renal complications

Complex medical conditions can be exacerbated by acute kidney injury (AKI), so early detection and prompt treatment is vital. When a person’s serum creatinine changes, our AKI algorithm alerts the clinical team for immediate attention, as well as suggesting tests that may need to be carried out on discharge to manage the condition.

Rapid action

Our Rapid Response solution integrates with our sepsis and AKI algorithms, and is tailored to outreach and rapid response teams. It enables your healthcare organisation to implement procedures to provide immediate interventions to patients when their vital signs begin to deteriorate rapidly and unexpectedly. Early intervention can help save lives and get patients home sooner.3

1: 17 percent reduction in mortality rate at Methodist Healthcare, 1,980 lives saved between 2011 and 2014 at Trinity Health;
2: treatment recommendations are constantly revised with the latest research on sepsis;

FAQs

How does the Rapid Response solution work?

As a patient’s symptoms are assessed, the algorithm calculates the Modified Early Warning System (MEWS)/National Early Warning System (NEWS)/Paediatric Early Warning System (PEWS) score based on patient age, and alerts clinicians that they are potentially at risk. Clinical intelligence within the system enables healthcare providers across a variety of teams to intervene early and monitor the patient for improvement as the established plan of care is executed.
