Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ: CERN) continues to see a steady demand for its health care technology from large health systems to rural, smaller-community markets. The company announced today three new clients recently signed for CommunityWorksSM, a cloud-based delivery model designed to provide full access to the electronic health record (EHR) for smaller health systems, critical access and specialty hospitals. The three newest CommunityWorks clients—Eastland Memorial Hospital, Pawhuska Hospital and Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital—highlight Cerner’s expanding presence and prominence in the community health care market.

Below are additional details about each new CommunityWorks signing:
- Eastland Memorial Hospital selected Cerner for a new EHR and services across its hospital and clinic in Texas. Eastland Memorial is the only hospital in Eastland County, caring for a population of more than 18,000 people. The hospital will break ground on a new rural health clinic this year, using technology to provide integrated health records across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Pawhuska Hospital, located in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, is implementing CommunityWorks at its hospital and rural health clinic. The hospital has invested in Cerner to help upgrade technology for its rural area as well as a community that is home to the Osage Nation Native-American tribe and government.
- Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital is working to improve information sharing across its critical access hospital and clinic in Manistique, Michigan. Over the next 10 years, Cerner will support the hospital as it continues to enhance the quality and efficiency of care for the people of Northern Michigan. Schoolcraft is now Cerner’s second CommunityWorks client in the Upper Peninsula.
