    We’re getting closer to the 2018 Cerner Health Conference (CHC18), where thousands of Cerner clients and health care industry leaders will participate in three days of education, innovative technology and networking. To stay up to date on the latest discussions at the conference, we have compiled a list of the nine must-follow Twitter accounts. From industry organizations to leading voices in health IT, the accounts on this list will offer a deeper look into #CHC18.

    1. Cerner Corporation - @Cerner 

    As a global leader in health care technology, Cerner’s Twitter feed will offer a behind-the-scenes look at #CHC18 – including previews and coverage of keynotes and presentations, deep-dives into health IT topics and live looks at the 90,000-square-foot Solutions Gallery floor. Whether attending the annual event or following along from a phone or computer, consider this feed the one-stop shop for #CHC18 insights.

    2. Brent Shafer, Chairman and CEO, Cerner - @BrentShaferCEO

    Since joining the company earlier this year, Cerner Chairman and CEO Brent Shafer’s focus has been on driving client value by listening to care providers, industry partners and Cerner associates. On his Twitter page, expect to find his thoughts on the future growth and opportunities for improvements within health care.

    3. Joanne Burns, Chief Strategy Officer, Cerner - @jburns15149

    Since joining Cerner in 2004, Joanne Burns has held positions across all lines of business, and she is making strides in aligning Cerner's information technology initiatives to the company’s strategic goals and objectives. She previously served as chief information officer of MU Health Care and executive director of the Tiger Institute, a unique public/private partnership between Cerner and the University of Missouri. 

    4. VA's Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization - @vaoehrm

    The Department of Veterans Affairs’ Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM) aims to fulfill the VA’s mission by helping to improve care for U.S. Veterans. Since the VA and Cerner announced an agreement to create seamless care by modernizing technology and creating a longitudinal electronic health record (EHR) for veterans, the VA OEHRM has used its Twitter account to discuss important issues in veterans’ health and to provide updates on data delivery and care coordination within the VA.

    5. John Gresham, Vice President, DeviceWorks & Interoperability, Cerner - @John_Gresham

    As one of the industry’s leading voices in interoperability, John Gresham’s leadership stems from his ability to articulate how mobile devices and cloud-based technology will change the face of health care. From to the Solutions Gallery floor to networking opportunities throughout CHC, expect John to provide great insights on innovation and interoperability. 

    6. CommonWell Health Alliance - @CommonWell

    Since its creation in 2013, the CommonWell Health Alliance has led industry-defining efforts that advance interoperability within health care. Follow this account during CHC for insights on how leaders at CommonWell and Cerner are providing a framework to improve transparency, protect patient privacy and promote access to valuable health information.

    7. Dick Flanigan, Senior Vice President, ITWorks, Cerner - @dickflaniganKS

    Dick Flanigan leads ITWorks, Cerner’s strategic outsourcing model, which aligns the local resources of health care organizations with the knowledge and experience of Cerner’s health IT experts. Under his leadership, the Cerner ITWorks team helps health care providers across the globe achieve their clinical and financial goals.

    9. Bharat Sutariya, Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, Population Health - @bsutariya

    Dr. Bharat Sutariya provides a unique perspective as a population health expert. He helped Cerner develop the St. John Sepsis Surveillance Agent in 2010, which has been implemented at more than 550 hospitals in the United States alone. This targeted, algorithm-based surveillance agent aims to reduce the sepsis mortality rate and improve quality measure compliance through the early identification of high-risk patients.
