This session focuses on the work that Cerner and the Essential Clinical Dataset client collaborative have done to reduce the noise with Cerner's Model system and define the essential clinical dataset (ECD) for nursing via practice based evidence.

2. Maximizing Patient Throughput by Automating Your Patient Flow Process (Session #799)

Effective patient throughput is key to increasing revenue, improving organizational efficiency and providing a positive patient experience. In this session, speakers from Shawnee Mission Medical Center (SMMC) will share how they use capacity and workforce management solutions in a centralized logistics center to help them improve patient throughput, communication among caregivers and patient safety.
Andrea Hall's clinical experience and front-line physician liaison experience has enabled her to manage staff and physicians at all levels, as well as implement diverse projects.
Kara Hess has been managing the nursing resource department at SMMC for nearly three years and has successfully streamlined processes utilizing the Cerner Clairvia and Capacity Management applications.
3. UAB Health System Integrates Oncology Patient-centric Care (Session #895)

University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) shares the value of advanced oncology care tools within Cerner's PowerChart Oncology. UAB was able to achieve comprehensive oncology care by utilizing one of the components of Advanced Oncology Care Tools, Carevive. This enabled care teams to personalize treatment decision making and standardize symptoms assessment and management guidance while on active treatment and throughout the survivorship phase based on relevant clinical, patient-reported health data and clinical evidence. Speakers from UAB will share how they achieved these results and how Carevive optimized the care team's workflow by putting the patient-reported data in front of the clinicians.
Dr. Gabrielle Rocque is a medical oncologist specializing in the care of women with breast cancer. She is the medical director for the UAB Health System Cancer Community Network and a member of the UAB's Oncology Care Model Steering Committee.
Terri Salter is responsible for planning, directing and implementing strategic initiatives and program operations for targeted oncology value-based payment models to deliver quality and patient-centered care balanced with responsible economics.
4. Appropriate Use Criteria: Using Evidence-based Medicine to Provide Better Care (Session #442)

This presentation will provide an overview of the regulatory timeline to implement the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) of the Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Program, along with workflows and processes that will help hospitals and health systems successfully meet the regulations. Speakers from various health care organizations will speak about key strategies they are taking to ensure their hospitals and health systems will be ready to begin on day one. Attendees will also learn how this program impacts treatment of patients and what factors need to be considered when ordering and billing for advanced diagnostic images.
